I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois; in a small town called Carpentersville. I was raised by two extremely dedicated, honest, and committed parents who taught me the values of hard work and responsibility. They also taught me about compassion. It is because of these values that I ended up practicing Bankruptcy Law. I wanted to practice an area of law where I could help responsible, hard-working people who have found themselves in a difficult financial situation.

I started practicing law in 2003. I received my undergraduate degree from California State University, Northridge. A few years later I attended Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California. I graduated in 2002 and started my career working with small businesses, focusing on drafting contracts and business formation. I then moved into the corporate world where I worked mainly in white-collar crime and fraud. It was at this time that I realized I wanted to help consumers. I was seeing people get taken advantage of, struggling, making financial mistakes, and just trying to do the best that they can. I started working with debtors and realized that Bankruptcy Law was my passion.

I moved to the Seattle area when I got married, soon afterwards I realized that I wanted to gain more knowledge in the field of Bankruptcy. I went back to school so I could focus on Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law. I received my Master of Laws degree (LLM) in International Taxation and Financial Services, with my concentration being Bankruptcy and Insolvency, from Thomas Jefferson School of Law where I graduated Summa Cum Laude (
highest honors) in December of 2012.

As of January 2013, I started working within the Bankruptcy and Insolvency concentration of the online program at Thomas Jefferson School of Law as a Professor, assisting with the instruction of the following graduate level courses:
